Revenue Management
•Develops understanding of all aspects of the reimbursement management system including development of modeling parameters, providing net revenue projections, performing ad hoc contractual analyses and preparing financial reports for all WFS regions.
•With minimal supervision models revenue for commercial, government and managed care contracts using the Decision Support System and patient database to provide financial information for decision making as required.
•Creates revenue assumption identification.
•Develops section and term identifiers which can be consistently applied from region to region.
•Assigns CCM payor identification codes which can be consistently applied from region to region, allowing comparison between institutions within a region and between regions.
•Determines the appropriate revenue management methodology (i.e., DRG, per diem, per discharge, charge detail, etc.) to best model net revenue.
•Develops the order of contract terminology in the best and most appropriate sequence to accomplish accurate modeling.
•Suggests potential system enhancements to model increasingly complex contracts.
•With minimal supervision enters new contract terms as each new or revised contract is approved and received from regional entities using the format developed in the modeling process described above. Working with regional managed care sales staff, government financial analysts and business office representatives, gets clarification of data needed to model the contract successfully. Such data includes, but is not limited to, obtaining derive logic parameters to be communicated to other DSS staff, seeking resolution to model payments that are not specifically mentioned in a contract, etc. Performs retrospective contract performance analysis to insure that testing/modeling of revisions is within acceptable limits.
•Audits contracts to insure a high degree of accuracy and correlation between modeled revenue and actual payment. Where significant variances occur, investigates and corrects if necessary. Reviews, investigates and corrects occurrences where no net revenue is modeled or where no specific payor exists.
•With supervision performs “what-if” analysis for use in decision-making regarding proposed contract term and rate changes. Determines profitability of proposed or mandated changes using past history and reports results to various levels of management or regional entities.
•Performs ad hoc analysis for selected contracts for use in reviewing volume and profitability.
Market Share Reporting
•Provides standardized monthly market share reports
•Performs ad hoc market share analysis
•Creates market share maps with specialized software

Skills/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree Required
3-4 Years Experience Required
