RN Registered Nurse Cardio and Pulmonary Rehab

Location: Oelwein, IA

Through theory-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcome-based care for a chronic cardiac and pulmonary patients. Facilitates communication with physicians, patient and family, other departments and/or team members. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.

This position will be located at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein working Monday, Wednesday and Friday as the regular schedule but will flex other hours and locations as needed.

Skills/Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 1-year clinical patient care experience, to include cardio/pulmonary assessment and ECG interpretation skills.
Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability.
Computer Skills: Personal computer.
Other Skills: Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence. Ability to prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks.
Certificates & Licenses: Current BLS and ACLS. Current Iowa RN license. Mandatory Reporter.
Work Environment Hazards: Chemical hazard to eyes and hand; impact hazard to feet; penetration and bloodborne pathogen hazard to hands.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Latex, nitrile and vinyl glove, surgical/isolation mask.

Physical demands are very heavy with infrequent lifting, pushing and pulling over 100 lbs.; moderate standing, walking and wrist deviation; frequent pinching, hand wrist repetitions, fine motor skills and both handedness; requires 20/20 near and far vision; requires color discrimination and accurate depth perception.
