HUC\PCA Health Unit Coordinator Patient Care Assistant

Location: Cedar Falls, IA

Performs clerical duties that support the daily activities of nursing units. Works cooperatively with the nursing staff and other health team members to enhance quality patient care and patient satisfaction. In addition, these incumbents function as Patient Care Assistants. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, works collaboratively with the health care team to provide outcome-based patient care. As a Patient Care Assistant they report the patient’s responses and progress to interventions. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare

Skills/Requirements

Medical Secretary or Medical Administrative Secretary degree. Without Medical Secretary, prefer 3 years experience in a medical office/hospital setting.

On State of Iowa, CNA registry.

High language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability.

Typing with knowledge of medical terminology; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Personal computer; mainframe information systems experience preferred, database software.
